2. Research on the requirements of circulating cooling water: if the cooling water supply is insufficient, the condenser will heat up, the sound of air flow will increase, the vacuum degree will drop rapidly, and even the steam will return to the suction pipe.
3. Research on sealing requirements of vacuum pump system: when the vacuum pump is in the limit state, there is little or sometimes no water discharged from the first stage. Therefore, the first stage pump has a large amount of water discharged, it can be considered that the system has leakage. The common causes of air leakage are: the gasket is not installed, installed wrongly or damaged, the bolts are not tightened, the flange surface is damaged, there are sand holes in the weld, and the joints (pressure gauge, vacuum gauge, etc.) are not installed properly.
4. Research on nozzle requirements: nozzle is an important part that affects the performance of vacuum pump. The existing problems are: wrong installation of nozzle, skew installation, blockage, damage, corrosion and leakage. No matter what preventive measures are taken, the blockage of nozzle is inevitable.

The surface of the vacuum chamber of Roots vacuum pump should be smooth and free of defects such as soft tissue, porosity and internal weld. In Roots vacuum pump, the moving parts in the vacuum chamber shall not use oil as lubricant, but diffusion pump oil and silicone oil with saturated vapor pressure shall be used as lubricant, and sealing parts of flange and observation window shall be coated with high vacuum grease. Generally, roots vacuum pump should work in a clean air circulation environment with a temperature of 15-30 ℃ and a relative humidity of no more than 70%. The inlet temperature of cooling water should not be higher than 25 ℃.
