In order to reduce the resistance, the pipeline system should be as short as possible and avoid bends, and try to reduce the accessories such as gate, valve and switch that increase the resistance loss. The pipeline system of water ring vacuum pump should not interfere with other equipment.


For the suction pipe, in order to avoid the formation of air bag, the connection with the pump should have an inclination of 1:100, that is, the suction pipe should be slightly higher than the center line of the pump inlet and outlet. If it is impossible for the suction piping system to produce an inclination, or if the auxiliary equipment connected to the suction pipe is lower than that of the pump, a tee can be connected in the pipe to meet this requirement. If the inhaled gas contains liquid, the installation of tee is more necessary. The diameter of the suction pipe should not be smaller than the diameter of the air inlet of the pump.


When a large amount of liquid or corrosive substances are contained in the gas, a buffer tank should be installed so that the liquid or harmful substances can flow into the tank and not into the pump, so as to avoid increasing power consumption and corroding the pump body.


A check valve should be installed in front of the suction pipe of the water ring vacuum pump to prevent water or other liquids from throwing to the suction pipe when stopping. For the water ring compressor, the valve regulating the gas pressure should be installed on the exhaust pipe of the gas water separator, not on the exhaust pipe of the pump (i.e. the connecting pipe between the pump and the separator), otherwise the power consumption will be greatly increased and the matching motor will be overloaded. The pressure gauge for measuring the gas pressure should be installed on the top cover of the gas-water separator rather than near the exhaust port of the pump. Otherwise, the measured pressure is not the gas pressure leading to the compression system after separation, but the mixed pressure of gas and water on the exhaust pipe of the pump.
